Games for Young Children
[GRD4KID]
Grids 4 Kids (Pritchett, Glenn; $15) is a set of four games for children 6-10:
Tic-Tac-Toe, a Concentration type game, Simon Says pattern matching, and a
simple code decipher game. High scores are kept for each player. This is a
very attractive, well-done package.
[SWATM]
SwatM Jr. 1.1a (Jim Fox; $?) is a simple hand-eye coordination game for young
children. Requires VBRUN300 and WIN31.
[TTT_WIN]
Tic-Tac-Toc 1.06 (JP Soft Development Corp.; $0) is a game of tic-tac-toe for
Windows 3. The 3-D graphics put a new twist on this old game, but it is still
best played by the very young.
[WCB10_1, WCB10_2]
Windows Coloring Book 1.0 (Kinderware; $30) allows children to use over 400
colors and patterns to color pictures on the computer. Up to ten different
users can choose their own icon and save their creations for later viewing or
continued coloring. The simple mouse-based controls are suitable for ages 3
and up, and an easy mode can be selected to remove potentially complicated
menu commands. Pictures may be printed in black and white or color. This is an
excellent tool for teaching eye-hand coordination while encouraging individual
artistic expression. Requires Windows 3.0+, VGA, 4 meg RAM, hard drive, and a
mouse.
[ZZCOLOR]
Z&Z Color 1.0 (Jason Balmuth; $18) is a color-by-number program for children
ages 3 and up. This entertaining package helps teach colors, numbers, letters,
and improves memory skills. Several pictures are included and you may also
create your own. Requires 2 meg RAM and a mouse.
